The standards require increasingly lower losses on the the transformer, and for this reason, many manufacturers are looking for the solution in core construction, using high quality sheet with thickness of 0.20/0.23; possibly with the foils stacked one by one. Manual assembly of the cores in this way takes longer than with thicker sheets, therefore higher costs.
